Theme                               :     Health: Illness and Diseases
Standard Competence       :     1. Speaking
Expressing the expression that can be used in daily life conversation related with illness and diseases.
Basic Competence            :
      1.1      Identifying to the meaning of the expressions used in the conversation and interaction with others in simple polite ways.
                                    1.2    Expressing meaning in transactional and interpersonal conversation that related in daily life context which involves of: expressing sympathy, and giving advice.
                                          1.3    Having a simple and short conversation related to the theme correctly.
Indicators                          :
    a. Identifying and responding the expressions about health include its pronunciation correctly that expressed orally
      b.  Expressing the meaning of the expressions in oral functional texts that involves of: expressing sympathy, and giving advice.
1.      The Objective of Learning :
                                    At the end of the study students are able to:
a.       Utter some kinds of illness and diseases correctly.
b.   Utter and apply some kinds of expressions used for giving advice, and wishing for one’s health correctly.

            2.      Learning Materials         :
Listen to your teacher first then repeat the words correctly!

Pronunciation- Listen- Repeat
1.)    “What’s the matter?” “I’ve got a terrible headache.”
2.)    “What’s wrong?” “My back aches.”
3.)    “All’s ok?” No, I’ve got a stomachache.”
4.)    “Are you ok?” “Not really, I got a sore throat.”
5.)    “Are you alright?” “Not really. I feel so sick.”

Study the expressions below!
A:  “Are you ok? You look so pale, what’s the matter?”
B:  “I feel so sick this morning.”
A:  “You had better go to the doctor.”
B:  “Ok, I will. Thank you.”
A:  Anytime, and get better soon.”

Elaboration
o  Teacher describes and provides proper information to the students about the topic and the expressions involved.
o  Teacher provides the information about the correct pronunciation, meaning, and also the new vocabularies used.

o   Teacher asks the students to speak take in turn and checks students’ pronunciation and intonation
o   Teacher asks some of the students to practice and show their ability in front of the class.
o   Teacher clarifies students’ mistakes and makes it correct.
